Q: I’VE NEVER WORKED WITH AN INTERIOR DESIGNER BEFORE – HOW DOES THIS WORK?
A: Not a problem! This is easier than you may think. We schedule a phone call to discuss your project – what you want to accomplish, intentions you are trying to achieve, the function of the rooms, your style preferences, timetables, etc. If we agree that we can help, we will put you on the schedule for an appointment to visit your location. At the conclusion of that meeting we both have a clear idea how we will implement a plan.

Q: WHAT EXACTLY IS FULL SERVICE INTERIOR DESIGN?
A: Traditionally, full service Interior Design is a true turnkey experience. Our goal is to complete an entire room, groups of rooms or an entire home in a single installation. Although many of our clients do their projects in phases, our full service design does not lend itself to selling individual furnishings or accessories. Full service design is about letting our team and I handle all the details from research, selection, purchasing and other logistics. The investment for this service is a flat design fee in conjunction with a furnishings budget.

Q: HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE?
A:Each project is different – from a simple consultation to a whole house interior designing – so obviously the time it takes varies. We can give you an estimated completion time when you begin your project and adjust along the way as circumstances dictate. If you have an event or deadline, we address that at the very beginning.

Q: DO YOU HAVE A PARTICULAR STYLE?
A: Our style is about making your space functional, healthy and comfortable to suit your lifestyle – whether casual or formal, we design rooms that reflect your individual style and are as low maintenance as possible. But, we love to design spaces infused with color and encourage all of our clients to add color into their lives as it uplifts our mood.

Q: HOW DO WE GET STARTED, AND WHAT IS NEXT?
A: Before beginning work, you go through a detailed questionnaire that helps us get to know you better. We take a design fee retainer that is applied to your final invoice. We then engage in a visioning session and work with you on any fact finding (preferred design styles, requirements for each room, how you live and work in your home etc.) we photograph the residence, and take formal measurements. From there we prepare a schematic design presentation, showing you our initial drawings, proposed material selections, palette options, and concepts. After design approval of that stage, we work with you on narrowing down the final selections, pricing, and implementing the design.

Q: HIRING AND INTERIOR DESIGNER: HOW DOES IT WORK?
A: All designers work differently. At Interiordesignwala.com, first a short questionnaire and follow-up phone conversation will help us evaluate your project, and if we may be of help. We then offer an initial home consultation. In this meeting we will walk through your home or business with you, and speak with you about the specific needs of your interior design or construction project. No actual design is done in this meeting, just an evaluation of the project scope and your particular needs and timing.
